February Tournaments

We ran a blitz tournament on February 4th. This attracted 22 players. Results are:

Following this we held a rapid tournament across two weeks. Well done to Joerg for winning both tournaments on a perfect score.

Following this we are back into Classic tomorrow night. Our rapid tournament was done with accelerated pairings, our classic will be too. What this means is that the top half of the tournament meet each other in round 1, and so does the bottom half. There is some maths involved, if you want to know more about it check out the link below. After reading this, if you have more questions please ask Bevan.

FIDE handbook - Accelerated Pairings

Classic tournament!

Our classic tournament starting tomorrow night will run for six weeks, from 25th Feb until April Fools Day. Luckily our last games will be late in the day so we won’t have any April Fools games. This tournament will use Accelerated Pairings. If you have feedback on how it goes, please let us know. We hope to see you there tomorrow evening.
