Guidance for Parents

Chess improvement at this age is mostly about little-and-often practice between sessions. Our Beginner Resources page lists the free online tools and videos we recommend, in the order to work through them.

Half an hour a few times a week makes more difference than an hour once a fortnight.

About the junior club

The Wollongong Junior Chess Club is a private business. It is separate from the Wollongong Chess Club but with friendly ties to it. We are glad it exists and we are happy to point families towards it.
