WCC Online Tournaments

The Wollongong Chess Club runs free online tournaments on Lichess, open to everyone. We have players of all skill levels, from people who’ve just learned the rules through to seasoned tournament players, so you’ll always find a game at your level. They’re a great way to get a game in from home, meet other members, and play some quick, fun chess.

How to join and play

Step 1: Create a Lichess account. It’s free. Create a Lichess account if you don’t already have one.

Step 2: Join our Lichess team. Join the Wollongong Chess Lichess team. The team joining code is WollongongChess. Once you’ve joined the team you’ll be able to see all upcoming tournaments.

Step 3: Enter the tournament on the night. Open the tournament from the team page, then click the Join button to register as a player. Don’t click Join until you’re ready to play on the night, otherwise it’s easy to register and forget you’ve entered.

If you need to withdraw mid-tournament, just click the Withdraw button.
