2024 World Chess Championship
World Champion Ding Liren has struggled for form since returning from a long break after defeating Ian Nepomniachtchi to claim the title. In the below position he played …Rb2, World number one ranked player and arguably the GOAT was shell-shocked that Din missed the simple Qxh7+ Kxh7+ Rh4 mate. In the last round of the Norway Chess tournament, Ding defeated Nakamura, showing that despite his horrendous form he isn’t ready to throw the towel in on his upcoming World Championship defence against Indian prodigy D. Gukesh.
