Summer Holiday Rapid

The last two weeks have seen us play eight rounds of rapid. Congratulations to Hai who won on a perfect 8/8.

We also welcome two completely new players to over the board chess. Benjamin and Ivan arrived last week to play in the second half of the rapid, welcome!! They joined four other players without a rating, we hope that we can get ratings for all of these players when the new list is released at the start of March.

Australia Day Rapid Round Robin

Last year we trialled a graded round robin event. I have had four people express their opinion on it and all the responses were positive. As such we are running another mini round robin event tomorrow night. You will be paired against players similar to your rating. From the rating list we break it up into groups of four and hold separate events for each group of four.

Are you unrated? We will try to estimate your rating and give you appropriate opponents. However we also want to separate unrated players where we can, to get a rating you need to play nine games against rated opponents. As such we don’t want to leave you playing unrated players too often, we endeavour to get a rating for you.
