Round Robin Rapid Week

Find out all about what the Wollongong Chess Club is up to.

Round Robin Rapid

A huge success with our first time running a tournament like this. Lots of positive feedback, and interesting games all night.

Congratulations to our division winners Hai, Ben, Brendan, Ramakrishan, and our 3-way tie in the swiss between Koe, John and Jye!

We are always welcome to feedback on any tournament we run, so please let us know if you have any thoughts.

Upcoming Rapid 3rd/10th December

Next week we’re back to a 2 week rapid. This time control is great for all skill levels.

The format is 4 rounds per night, with time control of 15+5.

Wollongong Juniors

Congratulations to all the juniors who participated in our Spring tournament on the weekend! A special congratulations to our winners Isaac in the open division, and Tamara and Bharath in the U12s.

To all participants, remember that every game is a step forward in your chess journey. Keep practicing, learning, and enjoying the game. Well done, everyone!

World Championship Recaps

If you’re not sure who is best to watch for the Ding v Gukesh recaps, I recommend PowerPlayChess. Daniel King is a good balance between educational and entertaining.

• Game 1 - French Defense
• Game 2 - Italian

ChessBaseIndia is also a great channel with a unique approach to showing the games in a “live” way:

• Game 1
• Game 2
